Brief Scope of Works: Metricab constructed a new Cyclotron Substation within an area previously used as a Carpenters Workshop within the Estates Building. This involved the demolition of all internal block work partition walls and doors etc. and the reconstruction of new partition walls for the Transformer bays using concrete blockwork, and for the Switchrooms using fire clad stud partition walls.

The Substation consisted of three LV Switchrooms housing primary switchboards fed by 1250kVA Transformers, and a third Generator Switchroom housing a new Generator Distribution Panel fed from an existing diesel Generator which was undergoing upgrading and modification. The Substation also housed an 11kV Distribution Panel serving the site CHP system.

Within the scope of works was the fitting out of Switchrooms with small power and lighting and ventilation.

The system has an extensive control / BMS / SCADA monitoring system reporting back to the site overall monitoring system.

Metricab carried out all building, civil, electrical and mechanical works, save the upgrading of the generator control system and BMS system, which was subcontracted to specialist contractors.
